Allianz Partners UK to boost employment prospects for young people in Croydon

·        Partnership with Croydon Commitment will deliver CV and employability workshops

·        First CV workshops to run in July

Allianz Partners UK (AzP UK) has pledged £10.5k to help young people in Croydon boost their employability prospects. The funding will be delivered through Croydon Commitment, a local charity that gives Croydon’s jobseekers the tools to secure a job.

AzP UK secured the funding through Allianz Partners Group’s Societal Impact Programme 2023, an initiative open to employees globally to nominate projects around the world. AzP UK’s partnership with Croydon Commitment was judged one of the 10 best global projects and qualified for the additional funding. This support will be used by Croydon Commitment to run 24 CV workshops plus 12 Confidence and Employability Workshops over the next 12 months.

Allianz Partners UK is a founding member of Croydon Commitment, and supports the organisation’s highly regarded Ways2Work Employability Programme. This will give volunteers from AzP UK the opportunity to attend interview and CV workshops to guide and advise young jobseekers with the aim of improving their prospects of securing a job.

As part of their support, AzP UK will also provide a job guide for students with tips on how to write a covering letter, tailor their CV and how to shine in job interviews.

Patricia Moon, Chief Executive, Allianz Partners UK and Ireland commented: “Croydon’s community faces many challenges, such as the highest rate of youth unemployment in London. As a well-established employer in the town, we’re thrilled that this partnership has been selected as one of the top ten initiatives globally. This will enable us to do even more to create a positive and measurable change in the lives of young people in the local area.”

Melinda Ashford, Partnerships and Programme Manager, Croydon Commitment, added:

“The support from Allianz Partners UK is key to ensuring the continued success of the Ways2Work Programme. Their expertise and knowledge will give hundreds of young Croydon residents the chance to boost their career prospects and raise awareness of employment opportunities. We can’t wait to get started!”

The first CV workshop will take place in July and schools, voluntary groups and colleges who are interested in attending should email info@croydoncommitment.org.uk to register their interest.
